Points Path

A daily travel and personal finance newsletter needed to scale editorial output without adding headcount. As managing editor, I built a four-layer AI editorial system — prompt libraries, golden checks, a known issues log, and workflow governance rules — that reduced editing time by approximately 40% while maintaining voice consistency and compliance standards. The system is embedded in daily operations and gets smarter over time as new failure modes are documented and fed back in.

L.A. Reported

A nonprofit local news startup founded by veteran journalists Scott Woolley and Karin Klein, formerly of Forbes and the LA Times, needed editorial and operational leadership to launch and scale. I came on as assistant managing editor in January 2026, serving as the editorial and operational backbone: setting up publishing infrastructure (Substack configuration, UTM tracking, contributor coordination), running social and PR strategy, and applying AI selectively where it actually helped (data visualization, editorial production tasks).

In the first four months, total subscribers grew by 805%, and paid subscribers grew by 900%.

The publication launched on schedule, built a real readership, and now has the editorial systems and operational rhythm to keep scaling.
